Tournament report - T2 (03-11-2007)
Last night saw some very competitive games with Meridian 'F' once again setting the overall pace. Behind them Blackwater Valley and Bere Forest 'B' are scoring freely but not taking all the points every game, this means that although Meridian 'F' are currently looking good for the title the contest for the runners up position is less clear. A dark horse might be Nomad 'B' who with 10 points from four games are well placed to challenge, they played for the first time this season and came away with a good points haul after having played the teams currently sitting 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the league - if they keep up the pressure against the lower teams 2nd placed is for the taking.
Congratulations to Docklands Scouts who competed for the first time in the national league structure, dispite not winning a game they never gave up, this paid off when they scored twice in their 4-2 defeat by Braintree 'C'.
ULU had a few travel troubles and arrived two hours late, this caused them to miss half their games and now sit rooted to the bottom of the table - please ensure you all arrive by 4:00pm to avoid this type of problem happening again.
Thank you to all teams for helping run the event smoothly.
We are back in Dagenham again next month, see you then.
Mal.
Tournament report - T1 (06-10-2007)
Firstly may i thank the members of the Nomad Kayak Club who ran the tournament on my behalf, from what i have heard they did a great job.
Meridian 'F' are top at this early stage with 4 wins and 1 draw, they are closely followed by Blackwater Valley with 3 wins and 1 draw (1 game in hand), positions 3rd through to 6th are seperated by just a single point. Battersea are currently 7th having had to play without an experienced member of their squad for the whole evening.
The action does not stop for long as we travel back to Dagenham on the 3rd of November where we will witness the first games for Nomad 'B', Docklands Scouts and ULU.
See you all then.
Mal.
