Sorry for the delay in this posting, there were gremlins in the system.......

The National Youth League was completed at Strastford Upon Avon pool
on Saturday. Eventual champions were Meridian B, with St Albans as
runners-up.

The competition, as expected, was at times quite intense, and a good
level of polo was played. All teams can take credit from their
achievements, all showing some improvement over the season - I believe
there are some future GB players that will come from each of these
teams.

I would like to thanks the players, coaches, parents and guardians
for their continued support of this league, it would be impossible to
run without your commitment. The location, at Stratford, is central to
us all, most journeys taking a maximum of 2 hours. For a single league
programme, this location was probably best.

I would also like to thank those that helped run the table, and
those who set up and take down the goals, etc. This is important to
maintaining the schedule for the night.

For next season, I hope that we all can encourage other teams to
take part, which is necessary for the Youth league to continue. This
year we were reduced to 7 teams, it would be excellent to get back up
to 12 teams if possible, which would mean two leagues, and possibly a
play-off situation.
