Oh I nearly forgot

Sorry, in addition to the previous rant, Hatfield is great for those in the Midlands (me incl.) but what about everyone else?

No, Hatfield is not the be all and end all of polo venues, nor should it be seen as such.

It's okay, but that's all, ok (compared to almost anywhere abroad or summer venue).

Why not use Hull docks? Liverpool? The Tyne (polo comp [Uni] there each early Summer), etc. etc. etc. where sponsorship and likes may be available.

Chaps,

We live in the UK, it's cold and wet!

Polo is best played in the warm to avoid injury and yes, ok, trainig is okay in winter months and you could wear more warm kit, but this is hardly likely to improve the standard of polo.

It would be good to be able to lower the costs for those who struggle to pay for their polo, and this used to be me!

However, for my money, polo in summer in the UK can often be freezing (remember the SNOW at Liverpool last year! and the wind and rain the previous year). If we want warm polo we have it indoors or go abroad, we're off to Italy this year as it's a balmy 32C there!

I know a trial of Div 1's has been done this year and hope it went well, but is this going to encourage me to "break the ice" - In a word, no!

Polo, National Leagues, is best kept indoors and apart from cost I've not hears a single argument otherwise!

Just a little voice of sanity before we lose what we have.

National league tournaments

We should play some outside but not in the cold winter months. maybe have them all at hatfield or something with the national championships being at the boat show now!!!

Outside Comps

Yes i agree that some competitions should be held outdoors however i think it should be just in the months of September & March as otherwise it starts conflicting with peoples summer activities. It will also may help reduce the cost of Polo fees as they are now extreemly high.

Hatfield would be a good venue too - very central in the UK.

Outside Comps

Hatfield would be a good venue if you're close to Hatfield ;-)

Seriously, the idea's sound but we need to identify good regional facilities.
